CALLIGRAPHY & LETTERING ART

My work is inspired by a variety of paths, from famous poets and philosophers, to small profound quotations picked up from conversation or the books I read. I incorporate many of the unusual religions of the world in my work and tend to write whatever catches my eye at the time. This can be anything from Zen Buddhism, Druidism, Christianity, Wicca, Mythology, Paganism, Shamanism and Native American, in fact anything as long as it is inspirational or motivational.

From the poets and philosophers I particularly like Kahlil Gibran. I have also done many pieces based around my favourite Scottish band ‘Runrig’. Calligraphy like music has a rhythm and a beat of it’s own. The mood of a piece can be joyful and uplifting or deep and sombre. The calligrapher learns to respect and portray those feelings by using colour, texture, layout and design to best convey those messages.

Suitable for both work and home environments. Inspirational, thought provoking, meditative, contemplative……
